Removing or Correcting an Accident Report

We publish short factual summaries of traffic incidents in Cumberland County. They’re drawn from local news reporting and public agency statements, and they’re written to be useful to people trying to understand what happened and what their options are.

If one of these posts involves you or your family and you don’t want it up, we’ll take it down.

How to ask

Email info@carolinalaw.com or call (919) 526-0450. Include a link to the post, or just describe it well enough for us to find it.

That’s the whole process. You don’t need to explain why. You don’t need to prove you’re related to anyone. We won’t ask you to justify the request or talk to anyone first.

What happens

We remove the post within 24 hours of receiving your request, and we send you one email confirming it’s done.

We also ask Google to drop the page from search results. That part isn’t instant — it usually takes a few days to a couple of weeks, and it’s not something we control. If you still see it listed after that, tell us and we’ll follow up again.

What we won’t do

We will not contact you about legal representation because you asked us to remove a post. Not then, not later. Your request goes to the person who maintains these pages, it gets actioned, and that’s the end of it.

If you want to talk to a lawyer, you’re welcome to call us — but that’s a separate decision you make on your own, and nothing about asking for a removal puts you on any list.

If you’d rather we changed it than removed it

Some people would rather the record stayed up without their relative’s name in it. We can do that. Tell us which you’d prefer and we’ll do it.

Corrections

If something in a post is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it. Early reporting is often incomplete and is sometimes corrected later, and we’d rather have it right than be first.
