Police had to divert the packed multi lanes of traffic to alternate routes on Monroe Road, Providence Road, Randolph Road, and Central Avenue.

The car accident occurred near the Wendover ramp across from the Exxon station. According to police, the pedestrian left the Exxon station and attempted to cross the highway, but only made it to the center outbound lane before be was struck by a van. Police have said that the driver of the van will not be charged in connection to the pedestrian’s death. However, the driver will be charged with registration and insurance violations.
