Since the invention of the car and other motorized vehicles, there have been several cases regarding distracted driving. Drivers, most times, are aware of the number of causes, consequences, and risks that this single act can bring.

Distracted Driving Stats For 2020

  • Texting can take a driver’s eyes off the road for more than 5 seconds.
  • According to the NHTSA, 660,000 drivers used electronic devices while driving in 2020.

Despite the efforts from law enforcement and legislators to stop it, people continue to drive distracted. A new proposed hands-free law hopes to stop distracted driving.

The new law, would require all adult drivers to use hands-free/wireless communication while driving. Meaning they should not have a cellphone in their hands or lap while operating their vehicle.
